Through an investigation of ideas surrounding the house and the family unit, stemming from concerns about memory, death, nostalgia and longing, My work questions the boundaries of the comforts of home. The abject nature of these installations/ objects allows a generic narrative to be evoked by the viewer of memories of a past that may or may not be their own. An interest in museum display and classification adds to the already voyeuristic nature of the ‘cabinets of curiosity’ that I create from found and discarded domestic objects.

New paintings

I seem to have developed a bit of an obsessions with floral arrangements...I think this stems from looking at the ready to hang sort of pictures you find in the home....kind of like natural history imagery.

'Home is where the art is'

Again, this is work from last year but was an important piece. consisted of three cabinets in which the make believe remnants of a home where placed to from a sort of creepy voyeuristic diorama of a life past and unnoticed. Another ode to the secret domestic interior.

It's high time I actually uploaded some stuff to be honest..heres some from over the last couple of years and I will photograph some of the new paintings I've been doing soon.
These pieces were mainly exploring the notion of nostalgia and asense of frozen time within the home and lead me into an exploration of the working class home as a social structure.
